Job Description

Seeking an experienced and dedicated senior youth worker who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people within Solihull.

You will be JNC qualified (level 3 or above) and have a number of years of experience in this sector.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering accessible and diverse programs and services to engage and support young people (11-17). Your role will be fast-paced and varied as you will support Open Access youth sessions, lead structured groups, provide one-to-one mentoring and support with community engagement through a variety of initiatives.

You will be a key member of our team and will work closely with our other youth workers to design engaging sessions for Boys Group, Girls Group, Youth Council, sports, music, drama, media and topical sessions.

We welcome anyone with a particular interest or skill-set as we are open to developing our program further in ways to enrich the experiences of our young people.

You will also need a full, clean drivers' license and access to a vehicle to enable you to attend various locations in Solihull for sessions and mentoring

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Open Access youth club and specific groups/projects, including coordination and design of activities.

  • Maintain a case load of approximately 10 young people to mentor, ensuring that each session is impactful, needs-led and strengths-focused to achieve the best outcomes possible, as well as completing pre and post session documentation.

  • Ensure safeguarding and the safety of our young people is at the heart of everything you do.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of engaging face to face programs for young people, including workshops, group sessions and activities.

  • Ensure effective planning and evaluation procedures are used to maintain high quality delivery.

  • Development and delivery of recorded and accredited outcomes for young people using Outcome Star and any other programs relevant to the project.

  • Comply with Urban Heard s policies which support equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.

  • The post holder will have the health and safety responsibility for youth services delivered.
