Senior Widening Participation Officer

Salary from £42,429 to £50,656 pa, with potential to progress to £54,295 pa inclusive of London allowance.

This is a fixed term appointment until December 2025.

The role

As a Senior Widening Participation (WP) Officer, you will play a key role in managing the delivery of two flagship WP programmes, LSE Thrive and LSE Springboard, as well as supporting in the delivery of our full suite of WP initiatives. You will also contribute to the strategic leadership of the WP team, enhancing our outreach and access efforts through effective cross-team collaboration. Your work will be essential in meeting the objectives of the 'Access' component within our Access and Participation Plan (APP) for /29, as well as ensuring continued progress towards our broader team and School targets.

The team and wider context

The WP team's work directly contributes to the School's strategy, LSE2030, and supports our goals for advancing equity, diversity and inclusion. The WP team works with colleagues across the School to meet the ambitious commitments in our Access and Participation Plan with the regulator, the Office for Students.

The WP team has primary responsibility for:

• Widening Participation activities and programmes.
• Delivery of the Access interventions outlined in LSE's Access and Participation Plan (APP).

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who not only demonstrates the ability to lead their own sub-team effectively, but also contribute to the leadership of the wider WP team, ensuring the successful delivery of key WP initiatives. Essential skills and experience include:

• Experience of working in widening participation in a higher education/not for profit.
• Experience of delivering sustained WP or outreach programmes.
• Experience of setting and maintaining excellent standards of service.
