Node.js Software Developer/Senior Software Engineer - AWS/Node.js/Public Sector

Home working with occasional work in their Manchester office (maybe 1-2 a month for collaboration meets) office/Hybrid

Starting ASAP - 6 months.

SC Clearance is required due to the nature of the project.

Rate 650 p/d Inside IR35

Required/Essential
Software development experience with Node.js

Experience building serverless (both compute and databases) on AWS Desirable

You will have experience developing and operating high scale, high performance APIs focused on high volume applications

Strong experience in AWS security best practices

Experience of integration with Authentication and Authorisation systems and handing user data

- plan and lead development of new cloud-based services, specifically making use of Serverless and Node.js

- have an understanding of the whole system and take responsibility for teaching this to others

- work with other disciplines to understand what needs to be built

- coach and mentor more junior colleagues

- operate the production services you build

- find ways to improve system robustness, resilience and stability

Nice to have

Knowledge of Gov Services such as DWP, HMRC, DVLA, etc

Team Size - App Programme with 30 people

Our client are launching a new channel (mobile apps) backed by Back End services which will serve the population.

Significant impact in terms of users, use of technology, opportunity to innovate.

We are looking for good knowledge of AWS infrastructure, services and tools, since our architecture is based on AWS.

Design and Development. Lead the design and development of new cloud-based Back End services and infrastructure to support GOV.UK service integration and personalisation for the mobile app.

Development process optimisation. You can explain the importance of developing process efficiency and the common ways in which processes are optimised. You can support specific activities to improve development processes.
