Job Description

Senior Research and Evaluation Officer

Grade B: £39,784 (National Framework) or £45,456 (London Framework - if you are London office-based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25) - There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £581 per annum for those working from home. For part-time roles - please note this will be pro rata.

Contracted Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week. Part-time, job-share, or compressed hours will be considered, please discuss with us.

Contract Type: Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity until March 2026.

Location: We can offer home, office-based or hybrid working.

A fixed-term role has become available in CQC's Research & Evaluation team to support the delivery of projects as part of CQC's Research Programme. CQC has made a commitment to invest in research to ensure we have a robust evidence-base to inform our approach to regulation, and to develop our understanding of what good care looks like.

This role would suit someone looking to advance their career in research and evaluation by working on important and exciting projects across a range of research themes that will support CQC's future decision making.

What you will bring

- You will have good experience of working on research and/or evaluation projects, including applied knowledge of methodology and analytical approaches.
- You will be a strong and confident communicator able to present to diverse audiences and summarise complex findings into accessible reports and experienced at working with and influencing external stakeholders.
- You will be proactive at identifying opportunities for research and evaluation involvement and for seeking ways to increase our impact.
- You will be able to work collaboratively on cross-organisational projects, applying a strategic perspective to the work.
- You will be expected to work flexibly across projects as required, including to support changing organisational priorities.
- You will be able to support colleagues who are planning their own evaluations, providing feedback and guidance to shape approaches.
