Job Description

Senior Relationship Manager, London (LL7-1)

Contract: Permanent, working 17.5 hours per week (You will be working with a colleague as part of a job share. Your working days will be all day Wednesday, with the remaining hours worked as preferred on Thursday and Friday.)

Salary: £49,006 (pro rata) per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.

Location: London (The role will be based at the office base listed; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week)

If you share our passion and ambition, we'd love you to join us as a Senior Relationship Manager for Arts Council England with a specific focus on New Technologies & Innovation within the Visual Arts and Museums team. You will manage partnerships, investments, and development programmes across the London Area, and lead a team of experienced Relationship Managers.

You will have specialist knowledge of the London visual arts and museum sector. Based in the London office, you'll be leading and motivating teams, capable of building effective working relationships both with local stakeholders at a senior level and a broad range of colleagues within the organisation. You'll co-ordinate work for the London Area in at least one of Arts Council's national policy areas. These include Diversity, New Technologies & Innovation, Children Young People & Learning, Engagement & Audiences, Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships. You will also be part of the London Area Management Team, which has a role in business planning and Area decision making.

As the ideal candidate, you will have

  • Knowledge of the Visual Arts and Museum sector in London Awareness of innovative artistic trends and business models using digital media and new technologies.
  • Strong understanding of business planning, financial analysis and reporting as part of NPO monitoring.
  • Experience of assessing applications and monitoring of grant programmes, or equivalent appraisal and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to give advice where needed and appropriate to funding programme applicants.
  • Experience of managing partner and stakeholder relationships at all levels.
  • Good leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability for people and project management.
  • Good understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by cultural organisations.
  • Experience of managing change.
