This role has an hourly salary of £27.73 per hour, plus an additional annual leave allowance. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity.
We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Pensions Advisor to join our fantastic Surrey Fire and Rescue Service team. The team is based in Reigate and is pivotal in supporting the administration and advisory work around firefighter pension schemes.

About the Team
The Senior Pensions Advisor is part of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service's dedicated team, which plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of pension-related matters for all Surrey Fire Service staff. The team is responsible for liaising with stakeholders and ensuring the pension process is up to date with the latest legislation.

About the Role
As a Senior Pensions Advisor, you will be the key point of contact for pension-related queries and project delivery within Surrey Fire and Rescue. You will be responsible for advising stakeholders on pension legislation, implementing changes, and managing relationships with external advisors. A typical day could involve reviewing legislative updates, preparing communications for the Local Pension Board, or advising on pension-related project implementation. The role will suit a proactive individual with a passion for detail and governance.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting, your application must clearly demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in a pension's environment.
- Experience with Firefighter Pension Schemes (desirable but not essential).
- Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to convey complex pension information clearly.
- Ability to interpret pension legislation and make recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
