Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Assessment Experience

Location: Westminster, North West London

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time or Part-time

Salary: NHS Band 7-8a (dependent on experience)

If so, we want to hear from you! I am working with a well-established paediatric therapy clinic, located in central London. This clinic is established in providing exceptional paediatric assessment and therapy services. As they expand their service, they need to add to their supportive and friendly team.

About the Senior Occupational Therapist role

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing children with diverse needs, including autism, ADD, ADHD, PDA, dyslexia, and dyspraxia. Your expertise in conducting assessments independently will be vital to this role. In addition, you will manage a caseload of approximately 17 children, providing tailored one-to-one therapy sessions while collaborating with parents and schools to support each child's development. Your passion and dedication will help empower parents with the tools they need to continue their child s progress at home.

Senior Occupational Therapist Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children referred to the clinic using standardised assessment tools.
  • Develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, employing a sensory integration approach.
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions during therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with parents to provide education and training, enabling them to support their child's development effectively.
  • Consult with schools for recommendations on environmental adaptations and strategies for inclusion.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation, including reports and progress notes.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and case discussions, contributing to clinic policies and procedures.
  • Shared management of a small team of band 5 and 6 OTs, when the CEO is out of the country which is happening more frequently.

Person requirements as Senior Occupational Therapist

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC.
  • Extensive experience working with children facing various challenges, particularly those with autism.
  • Proven ability to independently conduct assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for supporting children and their families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Interest in sensory integration techniques (training opportunities available).
  • Experience with children experiencing gender dysphoria.
