The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lecturer to play a key role in the delivery of the BA Costume for Theatre and Screen course at Wimbledon College of Arts.
Based in the School of Performance, this course introduces students to professional costume for theatre, film, television and live performance and offers teaching across two specialist disciplines: Costume Design and Costume Interpretation. We aim to prepare our students for a broad, developing and ever-changing costume industry and you will be key to ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary skills and expertise to succeed.
You will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the course, delivering an excellent student experience that meets the needs of our students. Drawing on your specialist expertise, you will develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions, stimulating thought and practice that challenges the canon of Costume Design.
In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will also provide academic and pastoral support to students, monitoring progress and attendance, and maintaining appropriate records.
About you
We are looking for a skilled academic practitioner with a relevant undergraduate degree in Costume Design and Construction, or equivalent experience.
