Senior Java Developer 12 month Day Rate

FPSG have a current need for a Senior Java Developer contractor to join a transformation project, working hybrid, including from a London office on a few days every week of an intial 12 month assignment.

The change project will involve being a key member of a Team within the programme, seeing you focus on backend development of Java Applications, whilst maintaining a close and interactive working relationship with the front end users of products in the Investment Banking arena, which in turn relates to external Global connectivity. Therefore, we are looking to bring in your expertise as a Contractor resource who has previous experience working in a Java Applications Development role within an Investment Bank, preferably with experience with pricing tools. You will get straight into helping to build a cloud ready, pricing & workflow programme which will have significant global impact. Experience with REST and FIX will be well utilised.Skills & output: We require a technically proficient and enthusiastic developer, with a desire to work on back-end application development, with an opportunity to work with the front end application development in HTML 5, Angular. As a Senior Java Developer, we are looking for you to support and lead different phases of the product lifecycle including analysis, development and testing. Your role will see you develop new and existing components in Java, hence previous commercially proven experience is required. As a proactive member of an agile development team, focusing on efficient application delivery to meet business KPIs, you will be expected to promote best practices in terms of TDD, development tools & technologies. As a proactive member of an agile team, taking part in ceremonies and interacting with business owners & stakeholders as well as other agile teams across the fleet, you will have constant interaction with front office business users, analysing & gathering requirements. The role requires good collaboration with members from the wider global team, as well as neighbouring teams and systems such as pricing and trade capture. Equity derivatives product knowledge would be useful, but not essential.Commercial skills & experience (essential): Practical Experience building Java Applications. Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience. Experience of Agile development techniques and a deep understanding of systems engineering, build and release management principles including continuous integration and continuous delivery. Experience with application integration, software design patterns, frameworks, unit testing, automated testing, performance / memory analysis, and n-tier service-oriented architecture. Experience in sales and trading platforms or middle office trade processing systems in Equities / FX / Fixed Income / Derivation domain
