Job Description

Job Title: Senior IT Specialist (Data Protection & Recovery)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Contract (Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: 3 months
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30
Location: Onsite at Corby & Peterborough

Onsite Requirement: 5 days per week at either Corby or Peterborough site

Day Rate: £454

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Specialist to support the deployment of an on-premises Data Protection Solution (DPS). This role requires advanced expertise in Data Domain, NetWorker, PowerProtect Data Manager, and UNIX/AIX environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in design, implementation, administration, and solution support for data protection technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Domain Administration: Design, implement, upgrade, and provide ongoing support for Data Domain solutions.
  • NetWorker Support: Administer, design, and implement NetWorker solutions, ensuring robust backup and recovery capabilities.
  • PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM): Manage, design, consult, and support the deployment of PPDM solutions for data protection.
  • UNIX/AIX Expertise: Provide crucial support with strong UNIX and AIX skills, critical for the deployment and management of the data protection solutions.
  • Onsite Support: Deliver proactive support, solution implementation, and troubleshooting directly at the Corby or Peterborough locations.
  • Consultation & Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of the DPS solution, providing technical expertise and recommendations throughout the project life cycle.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Data Domain: Expertise in administration, design, implementation, installation, upgrades, and remote proactive support.
  • NetWorker: Proficient in administration, design, implementation, and solution support.
  • PowerProtect Data Manager: Experience in administration, consultation, design, implementation, and support.
  • Data Protection & Recovery: Strong consulting skills in data protection and recovery solutions.
  • UNIX/AIX: Advanced knowledge and experience with UNIX and AIX systems, essential for this role.
  • Deployment Experience: Proven track record of deploying on-premises Data Protection Solutions (DPS).
