Senior Information Governance & Data Protection Officer

Job Description

• To manage a high quality access to information governance (i.e. Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations, Subject Access Requests, Re-use of Public Sector Information, Inspire Regulations and Data Protection enquiries) service to the council upholding our statutory obligations.
• To carry out the necessary functions for the Data Protection Officer of the council, ensuring the obligations of the Data Protection Regulations are upheld and handles data within the confines of the law.
• To assist and advise other sections of the council on information management and data protection, including carrying out internal reviews, dealing with ICO complaints, data protection impact assessments and training.
• To support and manage a team of Information Governance Officers.
