Job Description
We are currently looking on behalf of one of our important clients for a Senior Hardware Electrical Engineer. The role is a permanent position based in Zürich Canton & comes with good home office flexibility.
Your Role:
- Lead core technology development; ensuring high-performance & robust solutions.
- Take full ownership of Electrical System Architecture, driving PCB/PCBA optimization & system robustness.
- Utilize both technical & leadership expertise; initially working hands-on in designing & developing key system components whist advancing hardware & software towards objectives. Subsequently provide leadership & guidance to develop the system from prototype to commercial-readiness.
- Adapt the circuitry of current design to improve signal quality & stability.
- Write firmware for electronics & develop cabled & wireless communication protocols.
- Oversee system developments, including software & mechanical hardware.
- Plan production, set up automated hardware validation & optimize reliability testing.
- Ensure adherence to medical device standards & regulatory requirements.
- Manage projects using agile methods.
- Participate in workshops, conferences, & industry events.
Your Skills & Experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the fields of Electrical & Hardware Engineering, including experience in Medical Device Development.
- Strong expertise in PCB Design (Altium)
- Experienced in Optical Hardware, Firmware Programming & Communication Protocols (UART, Bluetooth).
- Well accustomed to Agile Development &Git.
- Skilled in Project Planning & Commercial Product Design
- Ideally experienced in leadership.
Your Profile:
- Completed Master's Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Similar.
- Cooperative & structured with strong problem-solving & communication skills.
- Fluent in English (spoken & written), any German language skills are considered advantageous.
