Job Description
We're looking for an Automation and Software Manager to join us at our Business Centre based in Bradford.
This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week based in the office.
Reporting into the Director of Data and Technology Products this full-time position involves working closely with an in house group of developers and engineers to develop new products for customers across the Liberty Global group including Virgin Media/O2 and several other converged communications businesses across Europe.
You will be embedding best practices in development and testing, and driving continuous improvement within the team.
What will you be doing?
Collaborate with teams to design, develop, and implement new features and applications for customers within the Liberty Global portfolio of businesses
Drive development best practices and ensure high performance and quality in the codebase.
Engage in proactive problem-solving and quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
We tend to look for people with:
Strong knowledge of the .net core framework (8.0), C#, and asp.net Core.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerisation, e.g. Docker,
Experience in React, HTML and CSS.
Understanding of SQL databases.
Knowledge of version control (GIT) and continuous integration/deployment processes
Knowledge and experience in writing unit and integration tests.
Understanding of Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex issues.
Effective communication skills to express ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
