Senior Electrical Design Engineer role, salary up to £55K

You'll be working for a successful internationalBuilding Services Contractor based in Edinburgh, who are looking for anexperienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Building Servicesteam. This consultancy works on a variety of projects across Scotland's CentralBelt as well as UK and Ireland wide, operating across the commercial,residential, Industrial, and more.

Your new role
You'll play a key part in the Electrical design teamand will be expected to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

Key responsibilities will include:

Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems .

Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.

Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.

Representing the organization at meetings with clients and contractors.

Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.

Report and technical note writing.

Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.

Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.

What you'll need to succeed

Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.

At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering on Building Services projects.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building codes.

Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.

Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
