Our well-known client is looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to lead the development of a next-generation data platform, empowering teams to create, discover, and leverage data products seamlessly. This is an opportunity to work on diverse, impactful projects, from implementing access control and monitoring tools to building scalable infrastructure for data cataloguing and quality control.

In your role as a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement cutting-edge infrastructure to enhance data discovery, quality, and scalability.
  • Develop tools and templates enabling seamless migration and adoption for data engineers, analysts, and BI users.
  • Optimise ETL pipelines for efficient and high-performance data processing.
  • Automate monitoring, testing, and alerting processes to ensure reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute impactful data solutions.

Your Expertise

  • Essential:
    • Proven skills in Infrastructure as Code (eg, Terraform, CloudFormation).
    • Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines and writing automated tests.
    • Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, with SQL expertise.
    • Background in cloud computing, particularly ETL and orchestration.
  • Desirable:
    • Familiarity with AWS services (eg, Athena, Glue, S3).
    • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or QuickSight.
    • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools (eg, Docker, Kubernetes).
