A compelling opportunity for a Senior Business Data Analyst, to join a world-leading specialty insurance firm. As well as operating in the Lloyds of London market, our client has global reach, underwriting more than 100 classes of specialty insurance in over 180 countries. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data operations and business analysis within the insurance industry. As a Senior Business Data Analyst, you will bridge the gap between the business and technical teams, eloquently translating complex requirements into data-driven insights and actionable solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to capture and interpret data needs from various sources and translate into technical specifications for actionable data solutions which support commercial decision making.
  • Work towards becoming the Go-To member of the analysis team, guiding and supporting the off-shore capacity.
  • Ensure all requirements are fully documented as user-stories, features, Epics and proactively ensure that the wider team fully understands what is needed.
  • Assist the business in User Acceptance Testing.
  • Contribute to Agile meetings throughout each development cycle.
  • Provide data reporting expertise to product teams across the business.

Skills and Experience:

  • 3 years solid experience working across different business areas within the insurance industry.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to present and communicate solutions clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Data-savvy and experience working with complex data sets.
  • Skilled in extracting data across databases and separate files.
  • Exposure to an Azure DevOps culture and Agile product delivery methodologies within a DevOps environment (eg, Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP).
  • Familiarity with SQL, Power BI reporting and Excel modelling tools, and an awareness of semantic layer tools.
