Salary: £35,000.00 -£43,000.00 per annum dependent onexperience/qualifications

Hours: 37.5 hours per week,Monday to Friday

We are keen to appoint anexperienced SEN Teacher to join our new Acorn Education School -Woodside Park School located in Penge, South East London.

About the role

To secure high quality teaching, effective use ofresources and improve standards of learning and achievement for allpupils in consultation with the Head ofEducation/Headteacher

To teach a range ofsubjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of theschool's curriculum

In consultation with theHead of Education/Headteacher undertake other identified areas ofresponsibility as necessary to ensure effective delivery of theschool's curriculum

Understanding:

  • The school's aims, priorities, targets,curriculum policies and action plans;

  • Any statutory curriculum requirements and therequirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupilsattainment and progress such as AcceleratedReader;

  • The characteristicsof high-quality teaching and the main strategies for improving andsustaining

  • High standardsof teaching, learning and achievement for allpupils;

  • Management,including employment law, equal opportunities legislation,personnel, external relations, finance andchange;

  • The implications ofthe code of practice of special educational needs for teaching andlearning.

Essential:

  • Use of a variety of teaching styles andapproaches

  • Attainment ofGCSE (or equivalent), grade C in English andMaths

  • UK Qualified TeacherStatus or equivalent

  • Organisational skills

  • Good communication skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding the welfare of allpupils

  • Ability andenthusiasm to work jointly with colleagues

  • An outstanding classroom teacher, or has thecapacity to become one

  • Strategic thinker who tailors lessons tostudents needs and abilities

About The School

Ournew Acorn School - Woodside Park located in Penge, South EastLondon. The school will have capacity for 34 pupils ages11-16 years old and is due to open April 2025. The school willbe a co-educational provision for pupils with complex needsincluding SEMH.
