Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Security Cleared DevOps Engineer to join a global consultancy delivering a high-impact programme for the public sector. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a critical project, working with cutting-edge technologies and a talented team to enable seamless product delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, automating the provisioning of cloud environments.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodeCommit/CodeDeploy for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes (K8s), specifically AWS EKS.
  • Use Helm to package and deploy Kubernetes applications, managing releases and version control within a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot applications and infrastructure using AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, and other monitoring tools.
  • Manage API Gateways (eg, AWS API Gateway) to route and manage traffic between microservices and cloud resources, integrating authentication and usage management.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum framework, collaborating with development teams to deliver projects in an iterative and incremental manner.
  • Configure and manage networking components such as NGINX and SSL certificates, ensuring secure and reliable connections.
  • Ensure proper logging, monitoring, and alerting of services, using the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) and AWS CloudWatch.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms, primarily AWS (Azure experience is desirable).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline creation and automation, including integration with testing and deployment processes.
  • Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management (IaC).
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container management using Docker and AWS EKS.
  • Familiarity with Helm for Kubernetes application deployment and management.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including SSL, routing, and API management.
  • Experience with API Gateway configurations, including integration into CI/CD pipelines and managing API stages and environments.
  • Awareness of monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus, and logging systems like ELK.
  • Agile development experience, working in fast-paced environments that require collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Azure services, including M365 and data migration.
  • Familiarity with REST and SOAP microservices.
  • Knowledge of additional CI/CD tools like Concourse.
