Job Description

We're looking for aSection Engineer to join our KierBam JV project at DevonportDockyard based in Plymouth, Devon. KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV)partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall weare
currently delivering the redevelopment projectat a Royal Navy site

Location: Site Based,Plymouth, Devon

Hours: Permanent 45 hours perweek

Responsibilities

As a Section Engineer you'll be working within the Nuclearteam, supporting them in delivering the redevelopment projectat the Dockyard

Your day to day willinclude:

  • Responsible for setting outworks constructed within allowable tolerances.
  • Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarksand checking that all
    setting out instruments andmeasuring equipment are delivered to site witha
    calibration certificate and recordedaccordingly
  • Manage the preparation ofsketches for distribution on site, ensuringclear
    communication channels are in place foreffective understanding.
  • Responsible forproviding and maintaining setting out and dimensional control,to
    ensure accurate construction of thework.
  • To manage in managing systems toenable the progress of work to be reviewed
    againsttime, quality, dimensions and quantity.

This role of Section Engineer is great for youif:

  • Degree qualification incivil engineering or equivalent is desirable - one or moreof:
    BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE,LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech,
    Completion of HigherApprenticeship.
  • SSSTS and CSCS - WhitePQP/AQP
  • May be working towardsChartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE orother
    appropriate professional body
