Hays is working with an incredibly well-regarded grammar school based in Gloucester, in recruiting for a Science Teacher for a part-time maternity cover starting ASAP or September. The school caters to students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, providing a comprehensive education in a vibrant and dynamic setting.

Your new role
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students across various key stages. This part-time role involves covering maternity leave and will require you to adapt to the school's curriculum and teaching methods. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, delivering high-quality instruction, and assessing student progress. You will also be expected to contribute to the department's extracurricular activities and support the overall development of students.

What you'll need to succeed

PGCE / QTS or an accepted UK equivalent - ECTs & NQTs are welcome to apply

Relevant Degree

Experience teaching science at KS4 - a specialism in Biology or Physics is advantageous.

A passion for working with young people and teaching them

Experience working with students or young people in the UK

Ability to manage behaviour and classrooms to create positive learning environments

Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Hays

At least 40 days of UK experience working with students or young people

The right to work in the UK

Commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
