Science Teacher - Secondary School, Hackney

A high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in the heart of Hackney is seeking to appoint a dedicated Science Teacher to join its dynamic and well-resourced team from September 2025. Person Specification - Science Teacher
• UK QTS essential, with a strong academic background
• A passionate and skilled Science teacher with a strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
• Demonstrate consistently high standards of teaching and classroom practice
• Be able to inspire curiosity and academic excellence in students of all abilities, ensuring inclusive education for all students
• Show a commitment to raising achievement and promoting a love of learning
• Be open to professional growth and willing to engage with ongoing CPD opportunities
• Work effectively as part of a team and contribute to wider school life
• Uphold the school's values of inclusion, aspiration, and respect for all


Key Responsibilities - Science Teacher
• Deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Plan, assess and adapt teaching in line with curriculum goals and student needs
• Support the continued development of a broad and engaging science curriculum
• Contribute to the school's extra-curricular provision, including science clubs and educational visits
• Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, progress, and engagement
• Use assessment data to track student progress and implement strategies to promote academic achievement
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum planning and teaching strategies
