Job Description
Building Surveyor, 4-6-month contract, starting ASAP, Rate up to £35 per hour gross/umbrella

Your new company
We're pleased to be working with an organisation who are looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to join their team for a contract that is expected to last for 6 months. The surveyor will be covering an area from near Peterborough through to Norfolk. You'll be joining a team of surveyors who look after a range of maintenance issues for social housing and assisted living properties across the region.
Your new role
As a Building Surveyor, you'll cover properties from Peterborough across to the Norfolk coast, ensuring the maintenance and provision of good quality accomodation for their tenants. You'll carry out regular inspections of properties, carry out stock condition surveys as well as project manage any reactive repairs and planned investment works. The surveyor will be responsible for managing any contractors, carrying out remedial works and reporting on performance. You'll be visiting these sites to carry out pre and post inspections of repair works, reporting on performance as well as assisting with financial forecasts and budget management. You may also be involved in some damp and mould related projects as well.
What you'll need to succeed
The Building Surveyor will have significant experience of managing property matters, in a social housing or similar setting. You'll be able to work collaboratively with internal staff, tenants and contractors to deliver an effective maintenance programme. You'll be comfortable managing maintenance-related improvement works, planning projects and their delivery, on time, on budget and to the required quality standard. The Property Surveyor will have a detailed knowledge of building pathology and will ideally have a building surveying qualification.

What you'll get in return
We expect this contract will last for up to 6 months, covering whilst one of the team is out of the business. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to tenants across the region. You'll receive a rate of up to £35 per hour, you'll be based remotely and have autonomy to plan your own diary and workload.
