About the Team

The Government Economic & Social Research Unit (GESR) is a friendly team, sitting within HM Treasury's Economics Group. We provide support to the Government Economic Service (GES) and Government Social Research (GSR) professions.

We currently have around 20 people organised into two teams. The first develops and implements strategy on behalf of the GES and GSR boards and delivers priority projects, including around the pivotal diversity and inclusion agenda. The second runs an extensive range of operational activities on behalf of the professions, including recruitment, outreach, events and L&D. Delivery relies on close working between the two, which provides an excellent opportunity to get exposure to both operational and strategic challenges.

About the Role

Key accountabilities include:

  1. Support the Head of Recruitment and Recruitment Manager in the planning of end-to-end processes for the centralised GES recruitment schemes, to provide timely and high-quality resources across the Civil Service, on a yearly basis.
  2. Manage your allocated campaign and actively handle all steps of the recruitment process, including the communication to candidates, the interaction with partners across the Civil Service and the actions on the digital applicant tracking system i.e. Vx/Oleeo.
  3. Build positive relationships with recruitment partners and support the continuous improvement of resourcing processes in line with employment legislation, Civil Service Recruitment Principles and recruitment compliance reports.
  4. Contribute to recruitment campaign reporting - Information management, briefing and analysis of diversity data as appropriate, to allow delivery of the GESR recruitment strategy.

We are looking for someone with experience of delivering a high standard of service within a volume recruitment environment. You'll be skilled at pro-active and thoughtful communication to a variety of colleagues and partners, as well as being capable of coordinating and managing your workload autonomously in a deadline driven environment, reacting appropriately to changing and conflicting needs.
