It's a pivotal role, which is why we'll be giving you 15 months of structured training to bring you up to speed. As your skills grow, you'll take on more responsibilities such as producing test plans and End of Test reports for each development project, and ensuring product compliance against quality improvement targets. In short, it's a chance to learn as you go.
Your work will support ONR's national and international reporting obligations, which are a critical part of what we do. SIMRS (Safeguards Information Management and Reporting System) supports the provision of our monthly cycle of statutory reporting to the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and other international partner states in meeting UK's international safeguards obligations. As part of our team, you'll make sure we're a world-class regulator.
What do you need to be great for this role?
You don't need specific software testing experience for this role, but you do need enthusiasm. We're looking for a professional who's keen to learn and is committed to professional development. In addition to dedication, you'll need the drive to meet deadlines, an eye for detail and a gift for collaborative working. Good with people, you'll always communicate clearly and strive to provide a quality service. Ideally, you'll also have some IT experience, but this isn't essential. We'll help you learn and gain ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation if you don't have this qualification already.
