Top 15 Chartered Accountancy firm - Public Sector Audit

Your new company
Your new company is a global, Top 15 firm of Chartered Accountants who are looking to expand their Public Sector audit team. This firm provides a range of services to clients including audit & assurance, accounting and advisory services. They also work with a variety of clients from different sectors including financial services, not-for-profit and technology to name a few. This firm is looking for a newly or part qualified (3 papers or less) Auditor to join the busy team in London.

Your new role
Your new role within the public sector team at the Top 15 Chartered Accountants will include the duties and responsibilities listed below:

  • Provide on-site support for our audit clients to include planning, day to day managing of workload and liaising with clients
  • Opportunity to complete audit assignments, whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with new and established clients such as local authorities, NHS trusts, universities, charities and central government departments
  • Work and collaborate with other members of the audit team and the wider department as necessary to provide high quality client service
  • Some assignments may require travel as you work more closely with some of your audit clients


  • What you'll need to succeed
    To be successful in this role, you will ideally have some Public Sector experience or have an interest in working within the sector. Below are some other attributes that are desirable for the role;
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) or 3 papers remaining until qualification
  • Recent audit experience within a UK Chartered Accountants- some accounts prep experience is also desirable
  • Experience leading audits from planning to completion, including a small team reporting into you on engagements
  • Good working knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards any IFRS experience would be a bonus
  • Ideally, you will have strong software skills, including the Microsoft packages and Pro-Audit
  • Strong communication skills
