Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Testing: Perform routine maintenance, testing, and corrective work on deployed solar PV systems.
- Compliance: Adhere to company procedures and health & safety regulations.
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute preventative maintenance in line with the PPM annual plan.
- Corrective Maintenance: Address and resolve issues as they arise.
- Reporting: Submit detailed reports on activities performed during site visits and daily operations through the online reporting system.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct job-specific risk assessments and analyses, reporting near misses to the manager.
- Contractor Coordination: Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors on-site to ensure compliance with H&S regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of electrical testing suitable for audits.
- Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both AC and DC systems.
- Issue Escalation: Inform the manager of any operational issues.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow fire, health, and safety requirements, including understanding applicable policies, risk assessments, and attending required training.
- Other Duties: Perform any additional reasonable tasks as requested by a manager.
- Travel: Be available for occasional overnight stays when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Electrical Installations: Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ qualification.
- Certifications:
- C&G 2382-18
- C&G 2391-52 or equivalent
- HV AP qualification
- First Aid certification
- Fire Marshal certification
- H&S IOSH qualification (desirable; training provided if required)
- Additional Training: Manufacturer certifications for central inverters; harness training (desirable; training provided if necessary).
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of AC and DC systems, including AC distribution boards, combiner boxes, and automation panels
- Familiarity with High Voltage systems (33kV), including switching operations and maintenance
- Understanding of CCTV and SCADA systems
- Skilled in using industry-standard instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Solar PV O&M for ground-mounted systems
