Job Description
This role has a starting salary of £52,047 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring a Public Health Programme Lead to join our fantastic Health Improvement substance use team. The team is based at Woodhatch Place in Reigate but meets at various locations across Surrey as part of a hybrid working approach. The role will lead and contribute to a range of projects as part of the Combating Drug Partnership, treatment and recovery and prevention of harm.We offer an agile, dynamic and collegiate team working in our approach to the often-complex presenting needs of residents. As a part of the Public Health and Communities Service, the team have a broad range of substance use specialist expertise and knowledge, that we apply to a wide range of projects delivered in partnership with key stakeholders. Although most team members will have lead areas we also encourage involvement and input from the team in all of our key projects. About the Role
You will work collaboratively to ensure the Council plays a key leadership role in shaping provision and making decisions for locally developing and implementing work across all three strategic priorities of Government's 'From harm to hope: A 10-year drugs plan' to cut crime, save lives and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for Surrey residents.
You will convene partnership steering group meetings; help to ensure and bolster sufficient system capacity to coordinate strategy and planning to break the chain of supply, provide world class treatment and recovery, and support a generational shift in the demand for drugs.
You will also encourage the full involvement of appropriate local leaders and put in place the governance structure and culture to drive joint and system-wide decision making. Overseeing the development and delivery of a shared local plan with a whole-system approach, you will address the three strategic priorities set out in the drugs strategy; help to unblock issues across the system and prepare regular reports on the partnership's performance and delivery into central government and the Health and Wellbeing Board in support of the SRO.
Finally, you will lead project areas as part of the Public Health Substance Use teams' annual workplan.
