Job Description

Are you an experienced Public Affairs Manager with good political connections, looking to help influence the agenda in building a Net Zero future in the Scottish Parliament? I have an exciting opportunity to join a leading UK charity as their new Public Affairs Manager as they set up their Scottish team. You will work remotely, but live close by to Edinburgh, to be at key meetings and events.

As Public Affairs Manager you will be instrumental in helping to shape and deliver the charity's advocacy engagement strategy and creating real change through campaigns and priority areas of focus within the Scottish Parliament.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a leading UK charity working to decarbonise homes, heat, and energy and forwarding the renewables agenda. I'd love to hear from someone with good political connections in Scotland, experience developing policy briefings, advocacy engagement strategy experience and an interest in influencing and informing this debate.

You may have developed your skills as a Member of Scottish Parliament, at an NGO, or in the climate change space.

  • This is a home-based role, which needs to be based close enough to Edinburgh to attend events and meetings, with occasional travel across the UK.
  • Salary £39,000 - £43,000 dependent upon experience
  • Permanent, full-time (35 hour week)
  • Range of benefits, some are25 days' annual leave per annum, increasing to 28 days with 3 years' service and to 30 days with 5 years' service, Annual Health and Wellbeing subscription, 8% company Pension contribution, Enhanced maternity/ paternity leave, 5 x salary life assurance.
