Job Title: PSHE Lead

Location: Bankside School Hanley Castle, WR8 0AD

Salary: £40,000.00 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a PSHE Lead to join our close-knit team at Bankside School, part of Options Autism.

Purpose of the Role

The main duties of PSHE Lead are as follows:

  • To be accountable for student progress and development within the curriculum area and maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers. The postholder will be aware of the statutory framework within which they work and contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the policies and practice of the school.
  • To provide a first-class education to each student that attends the school, though their own professional development and be a role model of professionalism and good practice.
  • To work with senior leaders to identify, plan, deliver and evaluate targeted interventions with identified individuals.

General Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people.
  • Work in accordance with professional practice, statutory and legal requirements and local policies.
  • Take responsibility for specific areas of work which will be reviewed annually then negotiated and agreed within the performance management cycle and school improvement process.
  • Set appropriate and achievable expectations and targets for pupils
  • Ensure that parent/carers are well informed about the curriculum, targets, pupils' progress and attainment.

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.

Bankside School is an exciting new venture near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Our new specialist school caters for students aged 11-18 years old with Autism, Complex needs and learning disabilities.
