Programme Manager - the role

This is a critical role that connects the company's internal teams. You'll be leading internal programme delivery across a complex range of external facing campaigns and internal change programmes. You'll be developing the project management function so the system remains robust, agile and highly efficient.

Programme Manager - key responsibilities

- Develop, enhance and implement the company's approach to project management, including training development and supporting technology.

- Oversee the complete management of the projects programme, ensuring it aligns with both the programme objectives and the strategic priorities of the organisation.

- Develop and maintain detailed programme plans, defining scope, timelines, milestones, resource allocation strategies and deliverables.

- Manage programme budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking, ensuring that expenditures align with financial objectives.

- Drive continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes to enhance operational efficiency and support future innovation.

- Ensure the projects comply with internal processes, relevant regulatory and compliance standards

Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership

- Act as the key liaison between all staff and the senior team, providing regular updates on programme progress, risks, and opportunities.

- Develop highly effective negotiation, communication and reporting strategies with senior stakeholders.

- Work closely with internal departments to ensure solutions meet business needs.

- Engage with external partners and suppliers to secure resources, negotiate contracts,and ensure a high quality of delivery.

- Lead and mentor staff working on projects, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.

- Promote agile working practices, ensuring teams can respond to change and deliver value in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

- Provide direction, coaching, and development opportunities for team members, enabling growth intechnical and leadership capabilities.

Programme Manager - Experience

- Proven experience (5+ years) managing large-scale programmes within a digital, creative, media or legal environment or demonstrable transferable skills

- Proven experience (3+ years) of team and line management including support of project managers alongside direct reports.

- Excellent project management skills with a deep understanding of both agile and waterfall methodologies. A Prince2 qualification or similar would be advantageous.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing, negotiating and collaborating with C-suite executives and cross-functional teams.

- Experience managing third-party vendors, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships.

- Ability to manage multiple concurrent programmes, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.

- Financial acumen and experience managing large budgets.

- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and devise effective solutions.

- Highly organised and analytical with excellent attention to detail.

- Expert in stakeholder relationships and networks, delivering messaging and getting buy in at the appropriate level.
