Programme Finance Manager - Welsh Government Energy Service
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time
Location: Flexible within the UK. Home-based, blended or fully office based (from our offices in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh or London). Some travel to Cardiff may be required.

As Programme Finance Manager you will support the delivery of grant schemes, administered by Energy Saving Trust, maintaining robust financial management of funds and grant claims.

The team
Based in our Community and Renewable Energy team, the role will work on a transformative major grant scheme supporting non-profit organisations across England, Scotland, and Wales. The focus of the scheme is to help people struggling with their energy bills, reduce carbon emissions and stimulate innovation on energy issues.
You will be part of a collaborative, inclusive and supportive team working together to help grant funding achieve the maximum positive impact to address the cost of living and climate crises.
What you'll do
• Work with the Programme Manager to design, operate, manage and refine financial systems to ensure fair and accurate distribution of grant funds and robust management and reporting of overall scheme finances. • Review grant scheme financial management processes, oversee their effective operation. • Oversee quality assurance on scheme processes. • Support other team members in communicating and answering queries about scheme processes. • Manage and oversee checks on grantee reporting of finances and impact data. • Review and sign off grant claims processed by other team members. • Support delivery of other Energy Saving Trust programmes when required.
What you'll bring
• Excellent understanding of financial management applicable to grant schemes. • Good understanding of the charitable and community sector and the unique challenges they face. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with situations with sensitivity and diplomacy. • A supporting and collaborative mindset. • Well organised with a proven track record working simultaneously on a variety of tasks.
