This is a *Amsterdam* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working on their largest digital and technological transformation program.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Procurement Consultant to manage buying activities with the goal of reducing overall spend, minimizing administrative efforts, enhancing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance throughout the procurement process. The Procurement Consultant will work on regional or global contracts with a spend scope of up to 10 million, managing at least one full category and supporting multiple subcategories alongside Procurement Leads. This role involves negotiating new supplier contracts, renewing contracts, and conducting competitive sourcing exercises independently. Category experience in areas such as Financial Services, Merchant Payments, Payment Fraud, HR/MSP Services, and VMS is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, negotiate, and contribute to multiple procurement projects, from simple tasks to high-impact, complex sourcing activities.
  • Oversee regional or global contracts with a spend scope of up to 10 million, including managing at least one full category and supporting subcategories.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms for products/services, ensuring optimal outcomes for our client.
  • Guide Payments Commercial teams on best procurement practices and identify cross-brand commercial benefits.
  • Lead and monitor supplier performance management, coordinating with internal business partners as needed.
  • Engage with legal teams to ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and sustainability guidelines.
  • Use analytics tools to prepare spend analysis, generate KPIs, internal reports, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Ensure adherence to our client's compliance standards in all contracting, and use standard contract templates where possible.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for procurement escalations and vendor issues.
  • Communicate and present confidently to Senior Leadership in various departments.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on contractual clauses, involving Subject Matter Experts when necessary.
  • Share procurement best practices and insights with peers.
  • Ensure daily procurement operations, such as PO approvals, new vendor setups, and contract storage, are aligned with the Procurement Policy.
  • Act as a backfill for the Procurement Manager or other team members when needed.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for optimization in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Broad knowledge of procurement practices with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex sourcing activities.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills).
  • Familiarity with tendering and contracting, particularly in services procurement or the P2P process.
  • Affinity with legal, risk management, security, and data privacy concerns.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and capable of working independently or in a team.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
