Principal Engineer

Kier Group are lookingfor a principal engineer to join our growing civil and structuraldesign engineering team based in Cambridge.

Kier Professional Services (KPS)are the engineering consultancy division of Kier Group, providingdesign solutions, technical advice, and engineering support to allother Kier business units.

We undertake over 2,000 designs a year in support of over400 projects, making us one of the UK's largest Temporary Worksdesigners. Our 100+ Temporary Works engineers have extensiveexperience in designing and checking Temporary Works for projectsof all sizes and across all sectors.

What will yourresponsibilities be?

As aprincipal engineer inside KPS you will be working closely withproject teams to support with the delivery of a broad range ofcivil and structural related services in both Temporary andPermanent Works throughout the Kier business. You willalso contribute to the delivery of more complex servicesby providing solutions which are safe and buildable (in boththeir temporary and permanent states).

What willyour day to day will include?:

• Permanent and Temporary Works design and checking, aboveand below ground in all materials, integrated with Permanent Worksdesign if applicable.
• Delivery of alternativesolutions and value engineering, enhancing Kiersreputation
• Tender stage and bid winningsupport, focusing on buildability, efficiency andinnovation.
• Technical assessment and review of3rd party designs, ensuring compliance with the brief to meetclient and Kier requirements.
• Delivery ofalternative solutions and value engineering, enhancing Kier'scompetitive position
• Manage and mentor juniorKPS team members.

What are we lookingfor?

• You are achartered engineer or are looking to become chartered.
• An interest in Permanent and Temporary Works Designor experienced in already.
• You have a full UKdriving licence.
