Principal Architect Security

We are seeking a Principal Architect Security, a thought-leader and leader of people, to take ownership of the Architecture for the Security Domain at United Utilities. This role involves engaging with the business at a strategic level to understand long-term needs and translating these into secure, scalable, and robust business solutions. This is a hybrid role that requires you to be onsite 3 days per week

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience leading technology and architecture for large-scale transformation programmes.
• Knowledge of formal Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and their enterprise benefits.
• Experience in EUC, networks, and telecoms architecture.
• Significant experience in technology delivery, solution architecture, data architecture, solution assurance, or similar roles.
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience, with an MBA or Post-graduate diploma preferred.
• Certification in an Enterprise Architecture Framework.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead the creation of the security architecture framework, including standards, principles, and designs that guide decision-making and secure solution delivery.
• Engage with business stakeholders and technology vendors to understand, analyze, and recommend appropriate security patterns, solutions, and technologies.
• Proactively engage with governance forums during project planning and delivery to ensure adherence to Cyber Security standards, strategic plans, and objectives.
• Develop technology strategy for the relevant Architecture domain, provide consultancy on strategic initiatives, and act as a point of approval for technology selection and purchase.
• Drive innovation and improvement across the business, maximizing the value of technology and data, researching emerging security threats, and delivering insights and guidance to business colleagues.
