Job Description

About The Role:

Our client, a highly sought-after architecture practice, known for their unique, modernistic approach is looking for a proactive and experienced Practice Manager to join their friendly and dynamic team in NW London. This is a 9-12 month maternity cover contract (with the possibility of becoming permanent) starting in early November.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will ensure the smooth day to day running of all studio functions, including HR, finance, operations and maintaining a positive studio culture. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and have proven experience across operations, HR & financial management. be adaptable, confident, and able to think on their feet.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a personable and experienced individual to take ownership of the role and lead effectively within a creative and collaborative team who offer regular social outings, a fully stocked snack cupboard (!) and fantastic opportunities for exposure across all elements of working within an successful architecture practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage HR operations, fostering staff wellbeing and a positive workplace environment
  • Lead recruitment efforts, from job ads to onboarding new team members.
  • Oversee performance reviews and ensure salary benchmarks align with industry standards
  • Handle financial tasks (cash flow management, billing, invoicing, and reporting)
  • Track budgets and profitability, delivering monthly financial updates to directors
  • Manage bank transactions and payments
  • Collaborate with accountants for yearend processes and other ad hoc requirements
  • Provide guidance to the studio team and manage daily office activities
  • Manage insurance renewals and other business compliance
  • Manage internal communications and updates
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' management experience within a creative environment
  • Solid expertise in financial oversight, HR processes, and operational management
  • Proficient in CMAP and Xero is advantageous
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Confident communication with internal teams and external partners
  • Eager to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities to enhance office operations
