Job Description

Do you want to make the difference to the lives of children and young people across the Isle of Wight?

What will you be doing?

  • Responsibility for improving the outcomes of all young people across the Island.
  • Take responsibility for developing the traded careers service.
  • Line manage the Island Futures team.
  • Develop pathways for all young people to thrive onto adulthood.
  • Work with external stakeholders to improve the opportunities for our young people.
  • Take responsibility for developing and monitoring service planning, including KPI's.
  • Represent the department within the various meetings and partnerships.
  • Work with senior colleagues to drive forward the Education Strategy.
  • Work with senior colleagues to contribute towards our Area SEND preparation.
  • Improve the outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

About you:

  • A qualified professional, with significant leadership experience.
  • Able to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for areas they lead on.
  • Ability to access face to face meetings locally.
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to ensuring young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
