PhD Student Position (f/m/d) (Ref. 24/21) Part Time Mohrenstraße 39, 10117 Berlin, Deutschland Without Professional Experience 10/9/24 WIAS invites applications for a PhD student position (f/m/d) (Ref. 24/21) in the Research Group "Nonsmooth Variational Problems and Operator Equations" (Head: Prof. Dr. M. Hintermüller) starting as soon as possible. Field of work: Optimization with partial differential equations under uncertainty. The position is dedicated to the analysis of these problems as well as the design and implementation of efficient algorithms for their solution. The PhD student will have the opportunity to collaborate with the research center TRR 154: Mathematical Modeling, Simulation and Optimization Using the Example of Gas Networks and may benefit from the center's various training activities. Wanted: A motivated, outstanding student with a master's degree in mathematics. A strong background in mathematical optimization and good experience with the theory and numerical methods for partial differential equations is required.
