Job Description
Position Overview:
We are looking for a qualified Pharmacist to join our rapidly expanding team. The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience related to weight management and the prescription of GLP-1 / GIP medications and will be ready to lead our newly-registered pharmacy. This role includes managing a team responsible for dispensing weight management medications, addressing medical queries from patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispensing Oversight:
Lead the team in dispensing weight management medications.
Ensure efficient and accurate dispensing of GLP-1 / GIP medications, such as Wegovy and Mounjaro.
Ensure all dispensing activities comply with current medical guidelines, policies, and regulations.
Regularly review and update all policies and SOPs related to pharmacy operations.
Patient Support:
Provide medical advice and support to patients concerning their treatment plans and prescriptions.
Address medical inquiries and offer guidance on the side effects, benefits, and proper use of prescribed medications.
Contribute to the development of CheqUp's clinical guidelines for weight management medications, together with the prescribing team led by Dr Andrea Pucci
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records for all patients.
Team Management:
Manage the team of dispensers and trainee dispensers in the Chippenham pharmacy.
Conduct periodic appraisals and performance reviews.
Collaborate with the director to determine team capacity and improve workflows.
Manage the recruitment process for new or additional staff as needed.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate closely with the company's support staff to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay informed of the latest medical guidelines and company policies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Must be a licensed pharmacist with the GPhC.
Experience in weight management and the prescribing of GLP-1 / GIP medications, or leading clinics (preferably in endocrinology/diabetes) or working on an endocrinology ward.
Strong understanding of medical issues related to weight management.
Proven ability to manage a team effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive problem-solving abilities.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
