Your new role
As a Part-Time Accounts Administrator, you will provide essential support to the Finance and Business Manager and the Finance Administrator. Your responsibilities will include processing transactions, handling donations and receipts, and assisting with the administration of the lottery scheme. You will work to strict deadlines, particularly during month-end tasks, and provide relief cover for the Finance Administrator when necessary. Your core tasks will involve processing supplier invoices, preparing BACS payment runs, reconciling supplier statements, and resolving queries. Additionally, you will manage daily cash and bank transactions, prepare sales invoices, handle financial information for retail shops, and ensure the secure handling of cash and cheques. You will also assist with month-end and year-end duties, process donations, and handle telephone queries related to the finance department. This is a part time role, working 25.5 hours over 4 days.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in finance and administration, with experience in processing supplier invoices, bank reconciliations, and handling financial transactions. Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage, is essential. You should have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work to strict deadlines. Good communication skills and the ability to resolve queries efficiently are also important. Experience in a similar role within a charitable organisation or hospice would be advantageous.
