Job Description
Painter required at HMP Swansea Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison. Respect and care of all prison property, including tools and materials provided. Compliance with relevant Health & Safety Policies, ensuring these standards are met throughout the contract. On occasion, you may be required to work alongside monitored prisoners. Working hours: The working hours 39 per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place).
Hourly rate: £14.32 p/h (this does not include holiday that will be paid)
What you'll need to succeed
You will be required to pass full EL1 prison clearance and the Hays compliance process. You must be a fully qualified Painter (NVQ level 3, level 2 applications may still be considered.) You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills.
You must be comfortable working around prisoners.

Your new company
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Painter/Decorator at HMP Swansea. The prison has a focus on education and rehabilitation, holding adult males and young offenders with approximately 500 inmates.
Your new role
You will be working for AMEY as part of their facilities team at the prison. As a Painter/Decorator, your job is to ensure that all planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is completed successfully within a provided time frame.
