Providence Row tackles the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets. The charity was founded in 1860 to work with vulnerable people living in the East End of London. We are extremely proud of how the charity has continued to grow and develop over 150 years.

For homeless people, or those at risk of homelessness, finding employment and housing opportunities can feel like an uphill battle, even more so if they re affected by physical, mental health or substance misuse issues. Providence Row works with those affected by homelessness and those vulnerably housed in London, offering an integrated service of crisis support, advice and progression programmes. We ensure that people often excluded from mainstream services gain the support and opportunities they need to create a safe, healthy and sustainable life away from the streets.

About the role:

Provide psychotherapy sessions on outreach in Newham.

Flexible approach to meeting vulnerable clients.

Deliver specialised outreach psychotherapy to individuals in Newham, focusing particularly on those who are or have been rough sleepers.

Work collaboratively with Street Outreach Response Teams and other specialist agencies.

Offer both formal psychotherapy sessions and informal support, adapting to clients' needs in terms of scheduling and locations.

Conduct street shifts alongside the commissioned Outreach Service, introducing and promoting our service to potential clients.

Support individuals transitioning into emergency, temporary, or long-term accommodation.

In order to support the achievement of these aims, the outreach psychotherapist will be responsible for:

Manage a caseload of 12 clients per week, attend MDTs, attend team meetings, attend any mandatory multidisciplinary meetings. The candidate will be expected to attend CPD, which will be organised by the candidate themselves, while Providence Row offers a generous budget of £1500 per annum.

The candidate will also be expected to contribute towards the smooth running of the service and willing to help and participate with any current services needs.
