OrganisatieFokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Fokker Aerospace, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gears, as well as the repair and reassembly of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.
FunctieFokker Landing Gear's Machining unit produces parts for landing gears for the most famous helicopters and aircrafts. This makes us responsible for end products of the highest quality. As the Operations Manager Machining, you ensure that this complex operation runs smoothly, without jeopardizing deliveries. Further description of tasks:
- You manage the team leads and work with them to ensure that production runs according to plan, budget and quality. You guide and facilitate your team leads and with intensive coaching you help them develop their competencies;
- You coordinate the work and delivery with representatives of our customers and have full insight into the status of the assignments, so that you can make timely adjustments;
- You drive continuous improvement of the teams and also improve our standards where possible;
- You are responsible for achieving the goals in the areas of quality and error reduction, safety and environment, the health, well-being and performance of your people;
- You create and maintain our open and honest culture, in which people are safe and work, respect and be there for each other, and take responsibility;
- You contribute with colleagues to strategy development and implementation according to the Hoshin-Kanri process.
Working on development and growth in a technical production environment where every day is unpredictable and results count, is part of your DNA. You know better than anyone else how to come up with creative solutions to tackle problems and you keep processes and production on track. You don't do that from behind your desk. With positivity, your communication skills and your genuine interest in your people, you motivate and involve your team leads and the people on the work floor in the change processes and improvement of the processes.
Further luggage needed:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, aerospace, or focused on Total Productive Maintenance;
- Extensive management experience in production and/or maintenance, repair and overhaul surrounding. Good to know: your unit works in metal and surface processing and sheet metal, not with composites;
- Demonstrable experience with process improvement and change processes in a production environment;
- Experience with Lean in a production environment;
- Your command of the English language is excellent (speak and write). Dutch is also important, because many people in your unit do not speak English. If you don't speak Dutch yet, you are able to quickly master the language.
