Job Description

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced early years professional to join our Ofsted Outstanding nursery on the outskirts of Norwich as Manager. Our unique ethos captures elements from Forest School, Maria Montessori and is strongly influenced by settings in Reggio Emilia.

We are looking for someone with a strong knowledge of pedagogy, and the ability to understand and put theories into practice, leading the team to embed outstanding practice in our remarkable setting.

Situated in 5 acres of walled garden and woodland, we are a hybrid of indoor/outdoor with our older children predominantly based outdoors (our Montessori classroom is a tipi). You will be experienced in early years education and enjoy the outdoors. You will support staff, leading by example, ensuring that ethos is both understood and implemented.

You will need strong organisational and communication skills; we are a large setting of more than 100 children per day, and will need someone who has experience in managing large numbers of staff and families. You will be supported by a full-time admin assistant, as well as Deputy Managers and a group manager (TCG is a small group of just two settings) who you will report into.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the nursery staff to ensure a safe and stimulating environment for children and a professional, collaborative culture among staff.
- Foster and implement the TCG ethos
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and health and safety standards
- Manage the nursery budget and resources efficiently
- Drive continuous improvement and look for areas of development

Experience:

- Previous experience in a manager role within a nursery setting (essential)
- Strong background in pedagogy
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to manage staff and foster a collaborative working environment

A Bachelors or Masters in Early Childhood is desirable, although not essential.
