Job Description

Nokia RAN SME - Automation Team

We're looking for an experienced Radio Access Network (RAN) SME with specialized Nokia expertise to join our automation team. You'll be instrumental in designing and implementing automation solutions focused on network performance, efficiency, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nokia RAN Expertise: Act as the technical lead for Nokia RAN topics, supporting the Mobile Automation Team.
  • Automation Design: Develop RAN automation solutions to optimize provisioning, fault management, and performance.
  • Network Orchestration: Support and enhance network orchestration, integrating RAN functions into overall service architecture.
  • Operational Support: Provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting complex automated RAN system issues.
  • Documentation & Training: Create documentation and training resources for efficient deployment and operation.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to align on automation objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify improvement areas in RAN automation processes and stay current with RAN automation advancements.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Nokia RAN platforms, 4G/5G RAN, and network automation.
  • Knowledge of network and service orchestration (eg, NFV, SDN, MANO).
  • Familiar with OSS/BSS systems like Nokia NetAct and AMOS.
  • Understanding of RAN Alliance interfaces (O1, A1, O2) and Telecom Security Act (TSA) implications.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Python, Ansible, cloud-native architectures, and DevOps practices.
  • Relevant Nokia certifications preferred.

Education:

  • Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Please note this is a remote role but you will need to visit the office for collaboration meetings as and when required. This could be at any location across the UK
