Job Description

A really well-established Professional services organisation, with offices across the globe, are looking for an experienced Network manager to take charge of their international network function. This is a brand-new role with responsibility for managing a team of 8 Network Engineers across multiple locations. With a major SD-WAN project on the horizon, this is an opportunity to shape and influence network strategy on a global scale.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll oversee a team of 8 engineers (3 in Australia, 5 in the UK) and will take ownership of network performance, infrastructure planning, vendor relationships, and the implementation of next-gen network solutions. You'll bring the right blend of technical know-how and leadership, balancing strategic decisions with operational oversight.

While this isn't a hands-on role, your background in enterprise networking will be vital for steering the team and making key technical calls. So, the ideal fit for this position will have a prior experience in a Network Engineering capacity.

What You'll Bring:

You'll bring a strong background in enterprise network infrastructure with the leadership skills to manage a global team and the technical know-how to guide future-focused projects like SD-WAN implementation. You're confident engaging with senior stakeholders and external vendors, and you know how to get the best out of both people and technology.

Key experience includes:

  • Advanced Cisco networking (routing, switching - BGP, OSPF), plus Firewall and wireless expertise (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba)
  • Proven experience delivering SD-WAN solutions across global, multi-site environments
  • Leadership of distributed teams and third-party vendors, with strong stakeholder communication
  • Exposure to cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python - desirable)

Why This Role?

Alongside a competitive salary (happy to discuss on a call), you'll benefit from a flexible hybrid setup (3 days on-site in Glasgow) and the chance to work across UK and APAC time zones - perfect if you enjoy variety and international collaboration. The benefits are generous too: private healthcare, enhanced pension contributions, 25 days holiday (plus public holidays and option to buy more), and even an electric car scheme. More than anything, this is a high-impact role in a business that truly values its tech leadership.

If this sounds like something you'd love to be apart of, or you're just curious to learn more, please apply below or get in touch with Lewis at Cathcart Technology.
