Job Description

We are looking for a Network Architect for a long term contract . The ideal candidate is expected to have extensive experience in networking, with a strong focus on cellular technologies like small cells and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).

Technical Qualifications:

  1. Multiple CCIE Certifications:

    • The candidate should have several CCIE certifications across different domains, such as:
      • Enterprise Infrastructure
      • Wireless
      • Service Provider
      • Data Centre
      • Security This reflects a deep understanding of network design and troubleshooting across a variety of technologies.
  2. Experience in Cellular Network Design & Implementation:

    • 10+ years of hands-on experience is required, particularly in designing and implementing cellular network solutions.
    • They should be familiar with both indoor and outdoor network environments, focusing on small cells and DAS solutions.
  3. Network Security and Automation:

    • The role involves designing secure networks, so expertise in network security is crucial, especially with tools like Fortinet SecGW and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) configurations.
    • Automation in network deployments will also be a key part of the role.
  4. Vendor Coordination:

    • The contractor will need to work with vendors, likely in relation to deploying specific technologies, so experience in vendor coordination is necessary.
  5. Telecom Experience:

    • Ideally, the candidate will have Ericsson RAN (Radio Access Network) system experience, as this is specifically mentioned as a preference. This suggests that the company works with Ericsson technology in their deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Design:
    • Developing detailed network designs for a variety of cellular solutions, including considerations for IP connectivity, synchronization, security, and zero-touch provisioning.
  • Implementation:
    • Leading hands-on lab and pilot deployments, configuring secure network tunnels, and managing security credentials.
  • Documentation & Support:
    • Creating thorough design documentation and providing hands-on support during deployments and operational issues.

  • Hybrid Role: The candidate must be UK-based, with the flexibility to work from a combination of Reading Lab, London Farringdon, and remote.
