Job Title: Network Architect - Connectivity
Location: Coventry, 3x on site per week, 2 days remote.
Salary/Rate: Up to £50,000

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading retail banking clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Network Architect to join their team on a permanent basis.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will be responsible for providing technical oversight and direction to a team of onshore and offshore network engineers supporting engineering & Service works on the distributed estate for a national UK retailer.

* Network design, technology evaluation, implementation, Security management, performance optimisation, documentation and reporting
* Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures.
* Accountable for integration of the new third party SDWAN and hosted voice solutions
* Technical Design Authority on behalf of the client for assurance of the high- and low-level designs covering security, contractual and service considerations
* Responsible for holding third parties to account for technical and operational aspects of the design
* Provide technical and thought leadership as well as strategic oversight to assure business outcomes are delivered by the solution
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with client and third-party vendor stakeholders
* Help translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Ensure integration of the third-party solutions into existing technology and business systems
* Guide and mentor technical development in the engineering & Service team
* Provide and review design documentation
* Creating and implementing an overall technical architecture roadmap and strategy that maximises the return on technology investment, reduces technical debt
* Creates reports and technology roadmaps and shares knowledge and insights with others.
* ensure adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

* Experience with a nation-wide retail environment
* understand most of the following network technologies: LAN (local area network), WAN (wide area network), wifi, data-centre LAN, SD (software-defined) networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, network-specific security and remote access technologies and approaches
* Knowledge of Cisco SDWAN and Mitel VOIP technologies
* Excellent understanding of Aruba networking products and solutions
* Firewalls - Fortigate, Cloud Firewalls
* Ability to construct and document end to end designs for networking solutions
* Strong communication skills to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to provide assertive leadership and feedback to senior stakeholders
* Awareness of market and industry trends and alternative products
* staying up to date on emerging technologies and trends, and developing expertise in specific areas of networking, such as cloud computing, software-defined networking (SDN), or network security
