Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer
Salary: £35,400 - £44,000
Location: Duxford; Cambridge
Contract: Permanent; Full Time - 35 hours per week
Are you a motivated and skilled engineer looking for a rewarding new opportunity? We are currently seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to deliver excellence in planned maintenance, service and reactive repair work for all electro-mechanical equipment within our Group Print and Operations distribution centre.

About the role
Group Print & Operations fulfil our customer requirements across the world, printing, packing and despatching millions of examination items securely to our customers around the world. We are also responsible for managing the life changing scripts returned from our learners, preparing them for physical or digital assessment.
As Multi-Skilled Engineer you will have lots of room for innovation as you will also have responsibility for recommending and implementing continuous improvement ideas on a wide range of complex counting, packing, sorting, and material conveying equipment.
Maintenance activities:
You will be a qualified electrical technician with a good all-round knowledge and practical competence in mechanics/pneumatics/hydraulics. You will have the ability to understand PLC systems for fault finding purposes and preferably you will have the required skills to create/modify simple software programs.
You will be qualified to at least an ONC/HNC or equivalent standard in Engineering with complimentary Health and Safety experience and IOSH training/certification.
In addition, it would be desirable to hold the Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018 (2382), but training will be provided for an applicant with suitable qualifications/aptitude (above) and the ability to pass the examination requirements.
Please note that this position is full time, based on-site at our offices in Duxford, Cambridge. Some travel between sites is also required necessitating a valid driver's license.

- Deliver periodic and condition based preventive maintenance ensuring high levels of equipment reliability and maximising efficiency
- Ensure maintenance records are maintained accurately on CMMS system
- Conduct 1 st level reactive service and repair work, diagnosing issues in a prompt and efficient manner
- Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of overall maintenance schedule and strategy
- Provide engineering expertise in the design and delivery of continuous improvements to all electro-mechanical equipment
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate technical spare parts and consumables are available
- Undertake risk assessment for own and managed activities and perform safety assessment of electro-mechanical equipment to ensure highest levels of safety are achieved
