Job Description

Morrison Energy ServicesLtd is recruiting for anestablished Managing QuantitySurveyor to join ourgrowing Renewable Connections Business withinthe North of England.

Reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Manager, asthe Managing QuantitySurveyor you will be part of our expandingCommercial Team who areresponsible for actively assisting our Site OperationsTeams to maximise profit and reduce risk.

As the Managing QuantitySurveyor your responsibilities willinclude:

  • Compile relevantinformation for preparation of reports and claims to agreedtimescales.
  • Assist with theongoing implementation of the commercial application in respect ofsite personnel at all times whilst developing lasting relationshipswith Business Unit and Project Managers.
  • Constantly refer to the project risk management plan forthorough, accurate, high-level risk assessment. Monitor theregister and any related documentation in accordance with theplan.
  • Ultimate responsibility for allsub-contractor management. Ensure all sub-contractors and suppliershave submitted compliant quotations/enquiries/applications withinthe timescale required, and produce all documentation to select andsecure services as well as monthly assessments, variations/CEclaims and final account agreements through coaching of theQuantity Surveyor
  • Actively increaseknowledge of commercial issues and contract law with a view tomanaging and agreeing compensationevents/variations/claims.
  • Actively suggest and develop processes for increasedaccuracy and efficiency minimising time journal and reconciliationtasks.
  • Liaise with the Senior CommercialManager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercialcover is maintained.
  • Assist the team andProject Manager, Engineers and Planners with regard to recovery ofcontract costs together with enhancing project profit byidentifying variations, delays and claims.
  • Assist with production of monthly project financial andforecast to complete reports for analysis with Finance staff andCommercial Staff.
  • Develop sound andbalanced negotiating skills.
  • Attend when requested handover and progressmeetings.
  • Help produce a sitecommercial manual and documents to recordvariations.
  • In accordance withour certification to the standards ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO14001 each employee will comply with and contribute to theeffective implementation of the current Health, Safety, Quality& Environmental Policy
  • Work within established Company policies andprocedures.
  • To undertake anyother duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands ofthe business and satisfy customer need

  • Contract costing & Contractlaw (FIDIC - Yellow & Silver Book/NEC 4 Option A/JCTDesign & Build)
  • Contractexperience, capturing site records for variations and valuations;supporting a project team
  • Sub Contract Management
  • Cost / value reconciliation
  • Qualification in QuantitySurveying
  • Full UK Drivinglicense
  • Knowledge of theindustry would be ideal
