This role is Chester based, in applying for this role you must reside in the Chester or surrounding area, as you will be required on site at least 4 days a week, we also require proof of right to work in the UK when apply for this role.
Rotheram Carrington Financial Recruitment are exclusively working with a growing B2B service business based in the Chester area who are recruiting for a qualified 'Hands On' Finance Manager This business has grown rapidly over the past 5 years, so it is an exciting time to join this business as they travel on their journey of growth. This business is currently turning over in the region of £7.5m with robust plans for continued growth. This role would suit someone who is on a trajectory path in their career, could be a 1st Move from practice who has worked at Accounts/Audit Manager level, or someone who is looking to step up into a Finance Manager role, or simply is looking for a new challenge. This role reports into the Finance Director and will support the day-to-day running of the finance function as the business looks to grow in the coming years.
Reporting into the Finance Director and managing a small team, this role will ensure the day-to-day running of the finance function, overseeing a wide variety of tasks such as:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, journals, prepayments to P&L
- Monitoring and report on variances across budgets
- Oversee cost control processes and identify opportunities for savings
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Lead and develop small team (finance assistant), providing mentoring and developing
- Manage project costs
- Financial analysis of overheads and costs
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Prepare monthly VAT returns
- Administer payroll for employees
- Prepare year-end packs and liaise with external auditors
- Ad hoc project work using Excel, possible M&A activities
Experience/Qualifications
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified
- Background from a dynamic SME environment as this will be a 'hands on' all round finance role
- Agile in dealing with different situations as and when they arise, have good attention to detail and be able to solve problems.
- Excellent communication skills, as you will be liaising across all departments with all level of stakeholders
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Thriving to always make improvements, looking at more efficient ways to enhance a growing business
What's On Offer
- £50,000 to £55,000 per annum (up to £60k dependant on experience and background)
- Chester based, fabulous offices in Chester City Center
- Ideally this role is full-time, but would consider someone looking for 4 days per week
